Itoh Kyuemon is an Uji tea company with its main shop in Uji city, and its Gion-Shijo branch, which opened on August 7, 2019, has a tea room (sabo) attached to the store. It stands on the southeast corner of the Shijo-dori and Yamato-oji-dori intersection, a 1-minute walk from Exit 6 of Keihan Gion-Shijo Station and about 4 minutes from Exit 1 of Hankyu Kyoto-Kawaramachi Station, so it is an easy stop in central Gion. According to the official announcement at opening, the tea room has 67 seats: 48 on the second floor and 19 on the third.
According to the 2026 Uji tea cafe pamphlet published by Kyoto Prefecture, it is open 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM (the tea room last order changes by season) and closed on January 1 and 2 and on irregular days. At opening, the official announcement introduced tea room dishes such as the Premium Gion Parfait, a sweets plate and matcha curry udon.
