Asakusa Nakasei: Edo-Style Tempura Since 1870, With a Japanese Garden

Nakasei has served Edo-style tempura from the same Asakusa location since 1870, in a building that includes a traditional Japanese garden and tatami seating for course meals. The house specialty is "Raijin-age," a mixed kakiage of shiba shrimp and baby clam column that has been on the menu for generations.

Reservations are accepted by phone and are required for course meals or the tatami rooms; a la carte items are seated without reservation.
